The Alabama Access to Justice Commission was created by order of the Supreme Court of Alabama in April, 2007 to serve as a coordinating entity for the legally underserved, the legal community, social service providers and the private and public sectors.
The 20-member commission is comprised of citizens representing the legal profession, educational administration, religious community, military, business sector, advocacy groups representing low-income Alabamians and volunteers.
The Mission of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation is to assist in removing barriers to a civil and just society for Alabama families and children by (1) providing financial assistance to worthwhile charitable organizations serving disadvantaged, disabled, and at risk families and children; and by (2) providing information and instruction beneficial to individual consumers and the larger community.
The Alabama Law Foundation provides access to justice for all and respect for and understanding of the law.
We are a charitable, tax-exempt organization composed of several separate programs, each providing ways for lawyers to better their profession and their communities. The foundation makes annual grants to organizations that provide free legal aid to the poor in civil cases, for projects that improve the administration of justice and for law-related education.
Legal Services Alabama (LSA) has eight offices and a centralized Call Center, working together to fulfill its mission statement: To serve low-income people by providing civil legal aid and by promoting collaboration to find solutions to problems of poverty.
LSA offices handle civil cases only. Each office has lawyers licensed to practice in Alabama and other staff who know how to help low-income people resolve their legal problems.
The Mobile Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Mobile Bar Association. Established in 1994, the Foundation's mission is to support programs that promote the legal system, the administration of justice and otherwise promote the betterment of the legal profession and local community.
Governed by the Alabama Legislature, the Commission is the budgetary body that makes daily decisions to enhance the County's infrastructure and the area's thriving economy, shipping, and seafood industries.
The Baldwin County Bar Association is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code to cultivate the science of jurisprudence; to promote and encourage reform in the law; to promote the due and complete administration of justice; to further legal education; to foster, encourage and perpetuate our democratic system of government; to elevate the legal profession to the highest possible standard of confidence, integrity, morality, dignity and courtesy; to maintain closer relationships in cooperation with the State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and our community; and to encourage the spirit of collegiality among its members and other practicing attorneys.
